Career Cheltenham Town McCabe was part of the Cheltenham Town youth system and was in the first-team squad for the 2005–06 season, making his debut for the club on 11 March 2005 in a 3–2 victory over Burton Albion in the Football League Cup. McCabe failed to score in his other four appearances. In March 2006, McCabe joined Swindon Town on a one-month loan. He was included in Swindon's starting line-up in their 1–1 draw with Burnley on 12 March 2006. McCabe made his first league appearance for Swindon on 21 March 2006 in the 1–0 defeat to Fulham. McCabe joined Conference National side Forest Green Rovers on an initial one-month loan in October 2006. He returned to Cheltenham in January 2007. McCabe scored his first goal for Cheltenham Town in the 2–0 win over Hereford United on 13 March 2007. McCabe was offered a new contract by Cheltenham Town on 16 May 2007. McCabe went on to score his second Cheltenham Town goal on 7 September 2007 in a 1–1 draw with Notts County. On 9 January 2008 McCabe was sent out on loan to the USA to play for New England Revolution.
